I believe, proclaim and teach: that Lucifer is an actual being that was once right with the Living God; through pride, selfish ambition, he betrayed God and as a result, The Lord brought down upon his head eternal judgment. He operates today as the god of this world and the prince of the power of the air amongst other descriptives. He is the deceiver of the nations, and the father of all lies; he is the enemy and opposer of fallen mankind. However… He[Jesus] had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross. Colossians 2:15 AMP… Jesus defeated him and made him a spectacle. He shall be thrown into the lake of fire which is the eternal place of punishment prepared for the devil and all who follow him.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him - Revelations 12:9 KJV.
The Devil is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word Satan or HaSatan (the Satan). Both words address the singular entity that is the accuser of the brethren - Revelation 12:10. Therefore there is one Devil (Satan) and many demons. However, It is a legal term not his personal proper name. We technically do not know what the Devil's personal proper name is.
Even, the name Lucifer was developed in the fourth century by Jerome who translated the Hebrew Bible into what is now called the Latin Vulgate. He took the Hebrew word "hêlēl" which means "morning star" (Job reveals a category of angels called morning stars). In Latin the word "lux" combined with "ferre" which means "to bring" - thus translated to "light-bearer". Even, Jerome did not capitalize lucifer into a proper name but Christian tradition created it. This is why we are a stickler for the original expression of the Word of God and never want to let denominational thinking to create confusion.
The Devil (Satan) is what this Kingless Principality does. He is the adversary, accuses, opposes. The chief prince of the Devil. One has to think of the Devil like we would refer to the Mafia. The Devil is the capo di tutti capi (the captain of captains of his crime family).
Biblically speaking, this entity is described through several different descriptives or roles. Once again depending on the context:
An Accuser: Devil comes from the Greek diabolos, literally means a false accuser or slanderer.
An Opposer: Satan a Hebrew root word for adversary or someone who resists and obstructs.
A Tempter: A deceptive force that baits the Adamic race into disobedience.
Beelzebub, or the Dragon all are among many other descriptives of the Devil.
The scriptures refers to Satan as the "ruler" or "prince" of this world in several verses, especially John’s Gospel: John 12:31, John 14:30, and John 16:11.
The word ruler in some translations is Prince— this doesn’t necessarily mean he is a descendant of a king but it implies one with absolute authority, in other words someone in charge. A chief prince as Jesus referred to Satan in the Gospel of John (John 12:31, John 14:30, and John 16:11).
The Hebrew word שָׂטָן (satan) comes from a root meaning “to oppose,” “to be an adversary,” or “to accuse.” A satan can therefore be an adversary/opponent—someone who stands against another.
The idea of “throwing apart” or “dividing” is related conceptually. However, a fascinating connection with the Greek word διάβολος (diabolos), which is translated “Devil,” comes from:
dia = through, across
ballō = to throw
So diabolos literally has the sense of “one who throws across/through,” and from there it explains the job description the prince of this world has giving to himself (GOD did not choose it for him)
Therefore Satan is a “slanderer,” “false accuser,” or “one who causes division.”
It's why we say that strife is the manifest presence of the Devil. Strife tears people apart. Breaks up marriages and makes enemies out of friends. That’s where “throw apart” idea is especially relevant. Its his self appointed job description.
So:
Hebrew Satan → adversary / opponent / accuser
Greek diabolos → slanderer / accuser; literally related to “throwing across”
And the New Testament uses Satan and Diabolos as names/titles for the same personal evil entity.
This becomes especially interesting in 1 Timothy 1:20: Paul says he delivered certain men “unto Satan.” The Greek explicitly says Satan, not diabolos and certainly not daimonion (“demon”).
So Paul is deliberately using the name Satan here: The one who ONLY comes to steal, kill and destroy - John 10:10.
