It’s typical of the FLESH (the corrupt sinful nature we all were born into) to isolate scripture and even fragmented scripture to build a doctrinal position. Or take a biblical doctrine and use it out of context.
For example, we reject the demonic doctrine of ABSOLUTE SUBMISSION TO A FIVEFOLD OFFICE (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and/or Teacher).The doctrine of absolute submission creates an authority that supersedes the Lordship of Jesus Christ and even the Holy Bible.
It was the hallmark attribute of the “Shepherding Era” of the late sixty and early seventies— where the Fivefold Office, often refered to as Prophet or Pastor, would with a “pseudo-Holy Spirit” (unclean spirit) prophesy given to two strangers that it was God’s will that they were to be married.
ABSOLUTE SUBMISSION creates a type of ruler-guru position over a flock of believers who apparently do not understand the Word of God and the dispensation we live in.
Since the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ that type of absolute RULER-GURU position of a Pastor or Prophet has been decommissioned.
The role of the Prophet, Priest, and Judge or King had a legitimate RULER-GURU position over a God’s Covenant people who did not have the Holy Spirit nor could they become Born-Again of the Spirit of God; It had its appropriate place to lead even RULE as Prophets, Priests, Judges and later on as Kings.
Once again since the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ, this Old Covenant biblical position is NOT blessed by God and the fruit of any who put others into submission always proves to be bad.
No true believer can be an antisemite. We hold the Old Testament as a precious, first class Word of God, however, we read the Old Testament through the Light of the New Testament.
The Death, Burial, and Resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ changed everything for us — it did not change the moral excellence of God— His Holiness is fully intact.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever— Hebrews 13:8.
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross."— Colossians 2:14.
The Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ fundamentally shifted spiritual leadership from the Old Covenant external mediation to the New Covenant’s internal empowerment. That so many want to turn over to someone else.
The Old Covenant Prophet was the exclusive mouthpiece of God to the people. In the New Covenant, every believer has direct access to God through the indwelling Holy Spirit.
The Shift in Prophetic Roles From Mediator to Edifier: In the Old Covenant Prophets told people what God was saying because the Holy Spirit did not permanently dwell in everyone. In the New Covenant, the Spirit dwells in all believers, changing the Prophet's role from a divine mediator to a gift that strengthens Born-Again Children of God.
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son... — Hebrews 1:1-2.
But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort — 1 Corinthians 14:3.
The foundation has already been laid therefore, all foundational contemporary prophets have only produced Cult-like expressions of Christianity and with that hurt and confusion.
Foundational Prophesy is no longer needed to establish the spiritual bylaws of God’s Kingdom in faith, morality, and Truth—Moses, Samuel, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah and so many others have from the Old Testament to the New Testament have fulfilled this for us — the Kingdom of God is founded on the Apostles and the Prophets — Ephesians 2:19-20 ALSO SEE Revelation 21:14.
So one can easily see the role of the Fivefold Office (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and/or Teacher) is for encouragement, comfort and for equipping the Saints for the work of their ministry — Ephesians 4:12. NOT AS A RULER-GURU DICTATOR.
Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said — 1 Corinthians 14:29.
Old Covenant prophecy carried absolute authority, New Covenant prophecy is subject to the evaluation and discernment of the local body of believers.
From Ruler To Servant-Equippers: Jesus Himself overturned the worldly, hierarchical model of leadership: So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up — Ephesians 4:11—12.
The Fivefold Office (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and/or Teacher) are now “Equippers” tasked with helping all believers fulfill their spiritual calling.
But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ — Matthew 23:8-10 NKJV]
The King James Version uses the word "Master" for both verses 8 and 10. In the Greek verse 8, is didaskalos (instructor), and in verse 10, it is kathegetes (guide or director). Jesus is both our ultimate Source of Truth and our definitive guide for life.
Jesus changed the whole paradigm of biblical leadership. He laid the hierarchy on its side, making all believers equal children under His direct Lordship. Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care... not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock — 1 Peter 5:2-3.
The Lord through Peter redefines leaders not as RULER-GURU-DICTATORS, but as humble shepherds leading by personal examples to the flock of the Lord. Every Believer Has Access To The Holy Of Holies: In the Old Covenant only the High Priest could enter the Holy of Holies and that only once a year during Yom Kippur, which is also known as the Day of Atonement.
The veil was torn in the temple at the Lord’s Death — leaders are no longer needed to access God's presence on a believer's behalf.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation... 1 Peter 2:9.
Under the New Covenant, we all have a priesthood the Lord Jesus Christ is our High Priest. Every believer functions as a priest who can pray, minister, and hear from God directly. Christ is our Ruler, High Priest and the Author and Finisher of our faith — no one else is.
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things…1 John 2:27.
This verse highlights that while teachers are gifts to the church, a believer's are ultimately dependent on the Holy Spirit, not a human leader.
The “Shepherding Era” and its subsequent doctrinal flavors are still around to this day — with or without the long hair and Jesus sandals. It’s been dressed up in three piece suits and yuppie clothes or trendy skinny jeans and even accompanied by production value that will rival a Las Vegas show.
Most will not publicly preach or teach this doctrinal position of ABSOLUTE SUBMISSION but it’s always self evident behind the scenes. Much like a pyramid scheme everyone is to work and sacrifice for one main person. They will quote Old Testament scriptures to reinforce their Biblical Authority of ABSOLUTE SUBMISSION that only belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ.
They will say: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”— 2 Chronicles 20:20.
Focusing on the believer is to accept anything the Prophet says on everything without two or more witnesses of clarification. It’s very similar to what Paul went through in the first generation of Christianity.
They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them. But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you — Galatians 4:17-18 KJV.
Paul is warning the Galatians Christians about false teachers (like the Judaizers) who were pretending with intense passion to put them into submission to their own genetic rewrite of Christianity.
This is just like the Shepherding Era of the sixties and seventies which was and is about getting people to submit to their own ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY. Not biblical pastoral authority based on the authority of the Scriptures but based on their own narcissistic notions inspired by an unclean spirit. We righteously fight the good fight of faith over this very paramount doctrine—

Even though the doctrinal position of AUTHORITY BASED ON SCRIPTURE not charismata should be a no brainer; It is actually in many circles in Christendom controversial.
Brain washed people who live in fear of another human being because of their demonic intensity and utter belief they are a RULING-GURU PROPHET that must be feared and obeyed even if they violate the holy Word of God; is just about the saddest thing to see.
Why? Because this doesn’t just effect peoples time, talent and treasure but this effects families on a generational level. It goes deeper than a wallet— these doctrines get into their minds and they become subservient to these demonic narcissistic leaders who can do no wrong and everything they say is a holy utterance even if it’s factually wrong. A very dangerous place to be spiritually.
This type of unbiblical submission causes people to not think for themselves. This type of absolute submission also causes Gifts and Callings to lay dormant for years - even decades because they are making themselves codependent on their RULING-GURU Prophet or Pastor to confirm their Calling, when fruit will do this the moment they obey the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Himself was challenged about His Calling (not His identity, that was in the desert with the Devil) but His Calling.And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?—Mark 11:28. Also in Matthew 21:23. And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?—Matthew 7:16 ALSO SEE Matthew 7:20.
His reply to them — every time was basically the same — “judge me by my fruit. Right here we can see with the scriptures what qualifies a Prophet to be a Prophet both Old Testament and New Testament: So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground— 1 Samuel 3:19 NKJV.
Many false Prophets and those who believe they have God’s Anointing to be in ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY often sound like they are hearing from God but they are not. The Holy Spirit is NEVER factually wrong and a genuine Prophet NEVER misses it.
This is why we declare the Scriptures infallible because the Holy Scriptures were written by the Holy Spirit through holy men of God.
We refer to this type of Prophet and Apostle as FOUNDATIONAL PROPHETS AND APOSTLES.
THE CONTEMPORARY NEW TESTAMENT PROPHET is NOT A FOUNDATIONAL PROPHET that spoke and wrote the Scriptures.
Many of the prophets of the SHEPHERDING ERA believe wrongly that they are FOUNDATIONAL PROPHETS. Their track records alone should tell a wide awake Christian they are not Prophets just by the biblical standard that they speak with factual errors and that they prophesy things that do not come to pass— the granddaddy biblical standards that a Prophet is NOT A prophet.
Moses, the Old Testament Prophet warns us to NOT fear these false Prophets: When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him— Deuteronomy 18:22
The command is NOT to reverence, dread, or be feel bound by the words spoken by these presumptuous fools. In fact the Law of Moses was to put them to death. That prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he has urged rebellion against the Lord your God... You must purge the evil from you —Deuteronomy 13:5.
However, the putting to death act did not survive the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ. In our dispensation — the age of the Church which is about to come to an end— we do not put to death these presumptuous fools for speaking their imagination as though they are hearing from God. We do however, do not fear or obey them and we confront them with the Scriptures on how and why they are Not Prophets.

NEVER VIOLATES THE ESTABLISHED WORD OF GOD IN ITS PROPER DISPENSATION, CONTEXT OR DEFINITION.
NEVER SUBJECTIVE: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation — 2 Peter 1:20.
There is no redefining its context or definition of words.
NEVER SELF SERVING: Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I did not shrink back from declaring to you the whole will of God — Acts 20:26 NKJV.
I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing. You yourselves know that these hands of mine have ministered to my own needs and those of my companions. In everything, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus Himself: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”— Acts 20:33—35 NKJV.
NEVER BULLYS: But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them— Matthew 20:25 KJV.
The Classic Amplified Bible fleshes it out for us even more clearer: And Jesus called them to Him and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men hold them in subjection [tyrannizing over them]— Matthew 20:25 AMPC.
Then He gives the command: It shall not be this way among you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many— Matthew 20:27 KJV.
The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight
Thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's
heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away— 1 Peter 5:1–4 KJV.
NEVER VIOLATES THE ESTABLISHED WORD OF GOD IN ITS PROPER DISPENSATION, CONTEXT OR DEFINITION— INFACT GUIDES WITH IT: And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding— Jeremiah 3:15.
Probably the biggest hallmark tell that something is wrong with the Pastorship or overseer of a church or minister is this— they do not lead with Scriptural knowledge and understanding — it’s only their vision and their so called leadings or prophecies that are indisputable not because they are biblical or come to pass but because of the virtue of their title — even if they contradict what the Bible says.
If He called them gods unto whom the Word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)— John 10:35 KJV.
The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever — Isaiah 40:8.
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? — Numbers 23:19.
For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven — Psalm 119:89.
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it — Isaiah 55:11.
The prime example of the enemy perverting the Word of God besides EVE in the Garden is with the Lord Jesus Christ in the desert. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread— Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread — Matthew 4:3 NKJV.
ALL COUNTERFEIT AUTHORITY CHALLENGES YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORD OF GOD AND YOUR IDENTITY: Jesus responded was with the Word of God from Deuteronomy 8:3.
Man shall not live on bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God — Matthew 4
This is the only real way to know who is being lead by the Holy Spirit — by using what the Holy Spirit wrote to us in His Word. By keeping the Word of God first and final authority in our hearts and minds we will know the genuine Anointed the Fivefold Office (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and/or Teacher) from the false Prophet, Teachers and false brothers or sisters. The Word of Gods not first and final authority nor do they care to study it.
Much like predators who abuse and con these ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY types who want ABSOLUTE SUBMISSION usually stay away from those who actually know the Word of God and rightly divide it in its proper context and dispensation.
